Art Meets Wine

Fero Vineyards & Winery, 925 JPM Road, Lewisburg, will host an exhibition featuring the work of artist Meaghan Troup of Mifflinburg. The exhibit will open with an artist reception 5-6 p.m. tonight, July 25, with light h’orderves and wine. The exhibit will run for six months. There is a brief biography of me and a description of my creative process.

Earth And Fire Exhibit

The Franklin Street Gallery will host an opening reception of its “Earth & Fire” art exhibit from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at 209 N. Franklin St. The exhibit, on display until Aug. 5, includes a variety of work from artists in the Finger Lakes region.

Guest jurors Ann Welles and Brett Steeves will select and announce the recipients for Best in Show and Honorable Mention awards at the reception. Welles is the owner and director of Exhibit A in Corning and is an active organizer in the arts community. She has lectured at various colleges and art organizations and presented professional development workshops for visual artists. Steeves is the owner of Somers Art & Frame in Hammondsport. The shop offers printing and framing services and its gallery features work by artists from the Finger Lakes region.

Artists Creativity Sparked By Near Death

So this article actually ran in yesterday's paper under the title "Brush with death, now brushes on canvas", although the e-edtion has been up for week. Not too crazy about either title and there was some confusion on a few of the facts, but overall it was a really good piece. It was one of the featured articles on the front page of the "applause" secion of the Daily Item. Pretty cool!

Bare Metal Gallery Artist Reception

New exhibit at Bare Metal




NORTHUMBERLAND — An exhibit is opening today at Bare Metal Gallery, 79 Duke St., Northumberland, and will continue until July 13.

An artists reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. tonight.

The featured artists include George Bucher, twine sculptor, from Sunbury; Dave Naydoch, acrylic painter, from Pottsville; Tana Folmer, metal sculptor, from the Watsontown area; and Paul Dumond, metal sculptor, from Stillwater. Among the new artwork in the gallery are five paintings by Meaghan Troup of Mifflinburg which will be on display through Aug. 29.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information contact the gallery at 473-BARE (2273).
